Kindergarten Terrapins
Welcome to Kindergarten at Trout Creek Academy!
At Trout Creek Academy, we empower all students to persevere, discover their strengths, and excel in their educational journey and beyond.
To be eligible for public kindergarten in the SJCSD, children must be 5 years old on or before September 1 and must reside in St. Johns County.
Other requirements for registration:
- Birth certificate/Guardianship Documents
- Documentation of a health examination performed within one year of enrollment
- Proof of completed required immunizations on Form DH680
- Proof of residence per the Residency and Guardianship Policy located at www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/student/residency/
Kindergarten Terrapin Dismissal
The safety of our Kindergarten Terrapins is our top priority! To help ensure every student gets home safely, please review the dismissal procedures below based on your child’s regular mode of transportation.
🚌 Bus Riders
Each Kindergarten bus rider will receive a wristband attached to their backpack with important bus information. Please do not remove this bus tag. These tags are provided by the Transportation Department and help our staff ensure students are safely placed on the correct bus.
🚲 Bikers/Walkers
All Kindergarten students must be picked up by a parent or guardian at the Biker/Walker Gate. Kindergarten students will not be released from the gate without an adult present. On the first day of school, families will receive a paper to write their family name on. Please bring and display this paper when picking up your child to help our staff quickly and safely match students with their families.
🚗 Car Riders
Car rider tags are distributed at Meet the Teacher. Please display your car rider tag on your dashboard or hang it from your rearview mirror during dismissal so our staff can easily identify the student(s) you are picking up.
🔄 Transportation Changes
If your child’s transportation changes, please submit the change using the ParentSquare Transportation Change Form. We also strongly recommend notifying your child’s teacher so they are aware of the change and can help communicate the new dismissal plan with your child.
